Drupal contributed modules - porting 5.x to 6.x

Drupal is a popular Content Management System (CMS) which has a bunch of contributed modules that enhance the core system. Read more about Drupal at http://www.drupal.org. Currently Drupal core is at version 6.x. While some of the contributed modules have moved to the newest 6.x version, there are many others which still are at 5.x.

This project is around volunteers who can spend time with the module leads and help port them to newer 6.x. There are a set of automated tools already available to do a reasonable job supporting easy porting. However, there are a few portions which still require developer involvement.

For developers new to Drupal this can be a good starting point to learn about module development and get feedback , inputs etc, before you go and develop you own modules. Besides, Drupal being a popular CMS tool, there are many projects to help with customizations and deployment for consumer groups.
