RPMstrap

What is rpmstrap? rpmstrap is a tool for bootstrapping a basic RPM-based system. It is inspired by debootstrap, and allows you to build chroots and basic systems from RPM sources.

Debian debootstrap is a very handy was to rapidly setup a bootstrapping Debian OS setup within another linux variant , be it Debian or Fedoro or for that matter any other linux distribution. While the usage are many, to quote a few this provides a easy way to put together a test setup for testing newer releases or beta release without messing up the host OS. Since it provides an easy way to create a sandboxed file system, it is also useful for developers for application development on platforms which may be different from their host OS.

The original rpmstrap project was very useful but right now looking for contributions to move to newer edition of Fedora, CentOS and others. Read the project home page documentation for more details.

Project Goal:
Enhance rpmstrap to support Fedora 8 and 9 , CentOS 5.
